The Sirtfood Diet has been on my radar since I saw the transformation of Adele. Before that, I didn’t know anything about it. And because I want to learn as much as I could about healthy eating, nutrition and diet, reading about sirtfoods was inevitable for me. I’m so glad I read this. Learning about sirtuins was fun and enlightening.
Sirtfoods are the foods that are rich in particular nutrients. These nutrients help us activate the same skinny genes in our bodies that fasting triggers. So, the book says you can eat certain foods, and your body will act like it is fasting. But, and this is a big but here, you’ll not lose any muscle on the way.
As with many diet books, there are parts in this book that I’m afraid I have to disagree, and there are parts I enjoyed reading. I don’t want to focus on the parts I disagree, but I want to cherish the things I’ve learned. Like the top 20 sirtfoods!
I’ll be eating more of these foods because most of them are keto-friendly and the foods I already consume daily. But I definitely won’t try the Sirtfood diet. I’m not a juicer; I don’t think I’ll ever be. And I most definitely cannot eat or drink four times a day. Even two meals a day is too hard for me sometimes, and I believe fasting is very healthy. I know it may not be for everyone, but it works for me.
With a quick search, you can find the top 20 sirtfoods, but I’d suggest you read this book and many other diet books before changing your eating habits. Remember that this is a neverending adventure and learning is a must when it comes to healthy eating. Enjoy the ride!
